U.S. Army Awards DiSTI $5.4M Delivery Order for Stryker Virtual Trainer
Defense

The DiSTI Corporation has been awarded a $5.4M delivery order from the United States Army to upgrade the Stryker Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Trainer (DTT).

US Army Stryker

DiSTI, the world’s leading provider of virtual training solutions, will upgrade the Stryker DTT virtual trainers to the latest FMT architecture and Common Core software elements, including the Virtual Environment Graphical User Interface (GUI), Student Performance Monitor, Simulation Engine, Message Manager Interface, Instructor/Operator Station (IOS) and Training Management System (TMS).

“DiSTI is honored to have once again been selected by the U.S. Army to support its mission of developing state-of-the-art immersive training for its warfighters,” said DiSTI CEO John Hayward. “This program adds the Stryker to the previously contracted FMT DTTs for the Army’s JLTV, AMPV, M1A2 SEP v3 Abrams, and Bradley Fighting Vehicle.”

This award is a continuation of DiSTI’s support of the Army’s Stryker Maintenance Training System, successfully converting the Stryker DTTs from 2D graphics to 3D interactive graphics on previous Army contracts.

Installation of upgraded classrooms featuring the updated Stryker DTT software variants will occur in U.S. Army Ordnance School, Ft. Lee, VA, Wheel Maintenance Training Department.

The upgrades provided by DiSTI will include the conversion of selected legacy training lessons and the addition of new lessons for the Flat Bottom (FB) versions of the Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICV), Anti-Tank Guided Missile Vehicle (ATGM), and Mortar Carrier Vehicle (MCV) variants to Common Core. In addition, the program also includes developing new lessons for the latest Double V-Hull (DVH) version of the Stryker ICV, ATGM, and MCV vehicle variants.

The program also includes Operator and Instructor training, On-call Maintenance and Technical Support, cybersecurity certification, and ongoing FMT Common Core support.

The Family of Maintenance Trainers (FMT) is a program developed by the U.S. Army to establish a Common Core (CC) software baseline to replace its current software architecture with a solution adaptable to address new and emerging technologies for future training needs.

DiSTI’s GL Studio Adopted by Hyundai Motor Group
Automotive

Today, the DiSTI Corporation announced its GL Studio® HMI development software has been adopted by both Hyundai Mobis and LG Electronics for the production of 3D Infotainment User Interfaces (UI) for automotive manufacturer KIA. These 3D infotainment User Interfaces are deploying globally across a wide range of KIA models. The two companies, Hyundai Mobis and LG Electronics are working closely with DiSTI to leverage its GL Studio® software and cutting-edge capabilities to take the digital in-car experience into the future.

ISO 9001:2015 Recertification

“In order for drivers to have a more intuitive user experience when using the infotainment system, it was necessary to utilize 3D animation. As a result of reviewing several solutions, we selected the GL Studio solution that is advantageous in terms of hardware resource use, 3D animation performance, and flexibility in developing new GUIs in the future, and we look forward to continued collaboration in the future,” stated an Infotainment Development Manager for the Hyundai Motor Group.

KIA hopes that GL Studio® HMI development software will excel at delivering dynamic and fun driving to the driver, especially during driving maneuvers. Moreover, the 3D user experience will enhance the luxury image of the vehicle and provide user-friendly usability to the drive.

Hyundai Mobis and LG Electronics will use GL Studio® to develop complex 3D interfaces in the Voice User Interface for Infotainment systems. KIA has a long legacy of providing drivers with award-winning infotainment systems. The specialized coding framework provided by GL Studio® HMI development software tools allows Hyundai Mobis and LG Electronics to build highly customized user interfaces for the Infotainment systems. Once implemented, these systems will apply to vehicles they sell across North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and other major regions.

“DiSTI is excited to be selected by KIA, Hyundai Mobis, and LG Electronics to adopt their high-performance 3D infotainment interfaces. This adoption highlights the flexibility and performance by GL Studio required to fuel demand for today’s complex 3D user experience.” Christopher Giordano said, VP UI/UX Technology at DiSTI.

DiSTI’s GL Studio® integrated development framework future-proofs UI development with tier-one suppliers and software subcontractors. The flexibility of GL Studio®, along with its professional service support, accelerates manufacturers’ time-to-market. DiSTI Secures Patent for Mixed-Criticality
Automotive

The DiSTI Corporation, a leading provider of graphical user interface development software and solutions, is pleased to announce that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted a patent (No. 11,003,425) for an invention titled “Mixed-Criticality User Interface Development System.”

GLS Patent Award

The patent differentiates DiSTI’s HMI Software products and solutions and the GL Studio software to facilitate both Safe and Non-Safe User Interface content in the same design file with a unified development workflow process.

This patented workflow is a method for mixed-criticality user interface development that includes storing at least one set of safety-critical requirements along with a corresponding safety-critical designation and designating an object according to the safety-critical designation for deployment along with other objects in a user interface.

“DiSTI has always been on the bleeding edge of the latest User Interface development technology,” said Christopher Giordano, VP UX/UI Technology for DISTI. “We were the first to certify our runtime for functional safety for the automotive market, and now have used that technology to formulate a best-in-class unified workflow to accommodate Safety-Critical and QM content in the same design. We are thrilled with the award of another patent that even further differentiates our GL Studio HMI/UI solution, and we look forward to taking this unique capability to market to better serve our customers.”

This process uses GL Studio’s OneTouch Deployment™ to handle the generation, content transfer, and application launch that takes less than 60 seconds to iterate. This feature allows for a very rapid iteration cycle. It lets UI design teams visualize their content on the hardware target without the need for complex programming and gives a common platform for implementation engineers to work seamlessly with UI designers.

• Faster iteration time
• Prototype directly on the hardware target
• Automated partition of SC and QM content
• Convenient, automated OneTouch Deployment™
• Workflow source code available for customization throughout the project lifecycle

This patent is the latest award reflecting on The DiSTI Corporation’s investment in research and development. The patent acquired by DiSTI further strengthens its leadership in developing cutting-edge, industry-specific applications, instrumental in driving digital transformation across organizations worldwide.
