The DiSTI Corporation proudly announces that Scott Ariotti, Director of Programs, has been named the 2027 Program Chair for the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), the world’s largest and most influential event dedicated to modeling, simulation, and training.
Ariotti brings over 30 years of experience in the aerospace and simulation industries to this leadership position. As DiSTI’s Director of Programs, he oversees the execution of complex defense and commercial training solutions. He ensures technical excellence and operational readiness for clients worldwide. His leadership has been instrumental in developing next-generation immersive training systems that enhance safety, proficiency, and mission effectiveness for warfighters and operators alike.
Reflecting on his journey, Ariotti shared, “In 1994, as I rode in the back seat of a white passenger van carpooling from Daytona Beach to the Marriott World Center for my first I/ITSEC, I could never have imagined that one day I would be on the leadership track to help run this incredible conference. I/ITSEC has shaped my professional life in profound ways, and I’m honored to give back to the community that has given me so much.”
Since joining the I/ITSEC Training Subcommittee in 2008 under the mentorship of Cyndi Turner Krisan (2013 Conference Chair), Ariotti has served in several key roles across the Training, Emerging Concepts and Innovative Technologies (ECIT), and Special Events subcommittees as well as serving as Deputy Protocol Officer. He was guided by industry leaders such as Steve Detro, Debbie Berry, Amy Motko, Janet Spruill, and James Threlfall. His contributions have spanned technical, operational, and community-building aspects of the conference.
Ariotti also acknowledged the collaboration and support of the I/ITSEC leadership. These include VADM (Ret.) Sean Buck, Debbie Langelier, Dr. Anne Little, Fred Fleury, Dr. Kelly Hale, and Michael O’Connor. He also thanked his conference colleagues, Dr. Lisa Scott Holt, Carla Cropper, and Dr. Anastacia MacAllister.
He credited The DiSTI Corporation, its leadership, and his family for making this opportunity possible.
Jason Thagard, President of The DiSTI Corporation, praised Ariotti’s achievement. He stated: “Scott’s appointment as the 2027 I/ITSEC Program Chair is a testament to his exceptional leadership, technical depth, and long-standing commitment to the simulation and training community. His vision for advancing innovation and collaboration within this industry perfectly aligns with DiSTI’s mission to drive the future of training technology. We couldn’t be prouder to see one of our own leading such a prestigious event.”
DiSTI is excited to support Mr. Ariotti’s selection as a candidate for the six-year I/ITSEC leadership track beginning in 2026, a commitment that reflects both his dedication and DiSTI’s deep engagement with the modeling, simulation, and training community. This leadership progression includes roles as Deputy Program Chair in 2026, Program Chair in 2027, Deputy Conference Chair in 2028, Conference Chair in 2029, Scholarship Co-Chair in 2030, and Chair of the Council of Chairs in 2031. At DiSTI, Ariotti manages a team of Program Managers responsible for delivering high-fidelity virtual operation and maintenance training applications for U.S. and international military clients, as well as commercial customers.
The DiSTI Corporation, a proud member of NTSA for 30 years and a Sustaining Member for over a decade, remains firmly committed to advancing the modeling and simulation community. As an Orlando-based small business focused on virtual simulation and training solutions, DiSTI’s core values align closely with the I/ITSEC community and the branches of service it supports.
