Next Generation Human Machine Interface Development

The goal of this session is to provide attendees with a practical understanding of the challenges faced in developing Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications. Attendees will be presented with an overview of the decision factors that have historically driven HMI application development ranging from performance considerations, data communication, scalability, interoperability, and deployment options. Learn how employing COTS tools, that were designed and built to address these decision factors, can dramatically reduce time, cost, and risk.

COTS Simulation Solutions

Attendees will be presented with an overview of a 3 layer COTS methodology for use in the development of Modeling and Simulation programs. Use cases will be presented from both a technical and cost perspective.

Domain Specific Solutions

A series of domain specific COTS techniques will be discussed and illustrated through the use of live demonstrations. Topics include: realistic navigation in complex urban environments, impact of uncertainty effects on warfare modeling, and creating man-in-the-loop task trainers.

The Effects of Network Centric Warfare

This session will present the concept of Network Centric Warfare (NCW) - the ability of combat troops to communicate given the effect of Bandwidth, Terrain, Mobility effects on a mobile ad-hoc network. Attendees will learn how simulation of NCW can enhance the accuracy of battlefield modeling and simulation scenarios. Future Combat Systems, Joint Tactical Radio Systems, and Mobile Ad-hoc vehicle networks will also be discussed. The discussion will culminate in a demonstration of NCW simulation using Scalable’s Qualnet working with MÄK tools.
