The Central Florida STEM Education Council (CFSEC) is a collaborative effort between academia, industry, professional organizations and government, with a long term objective of increasing the technical workforce for the security and continued growth of the United States. CFSEC strives to develop a unified STEM program to include mass communication, mentorships, and resources for parents, students, and educators through on-line and event venues. To support their efforts, DiSTI founded the annual DiSTI Duffer charity golf tournament. All funds raised from the Duffer go directly to the CFSEC to support programs such as the US Army PEO STRI High School Engineering Internship and the YMCA Robotics Academy (pictured). These activities expose students to exciting hands on, mentor-based programs that build STEM skills. This year’s tournament will be held on October 10th. Welcome to the web site of the University of Central Florida Programming Team! The team competes in the Association for Computing Machinery’s International Collegiate Programming Contest. As a student organization within UCF’s School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, we compete regionally each fall and usually internationally each spring.
Lyman Robotics is a program here at Lyman High School in Longwood, Florida where students work with each other to build, wire, and program a robot. The robot is then entered into FIRST competitions where it competes against robots built by other schools or clubs. We compete in FTC and FRC competitions. FTC stands for FIRST Tech Challenge while FRC stands for FIRST Robotics Competition. We have two FTC teams, GOOD (Gears Of Other Dimensions) team number 4228, and BAD (Built And Dangerous) team number 3045.
Hagerty High School Robotics
DiSTI is a sponsor of the Hagerty Robotics team. The Hagerty Robotics Program consists of two teams with 30 male/female enthusiastic students who work together to build robots to compete against other high school teams from the state of Florida. Teamwork, Math, Science, Technology, and Problem-Solving Skills are at the core of their program.
