Robert Carpenter

Robert Carpenter has been playing board, computer and miniature wargames from the age of 13 (1982). This naturally led him to a twelve year military career as an officer in the Australian Army, initially in Survey and later in Intelligence. Since 2000 Rob has been involved in the official simulation stream, first In the Australian Defence Simulation Office responsible for joint simulation and exploiting commercial games, and now in the Army as the Deputy Director, Simulation Development. He has presented at national and international conference including SIMTECT, I/ITSEC and ITEC. His academic qualifications include a Bachelors degree in Science (Information Systems and History) and graduate diplomas in Geographic Information systems and Information management. Apart from playing realistic military computer games Rob enjoys surfing and gardening and is married with two young children.
