Karen Cooper currently manages the R&D networks at NAWCTSD Orlando. She is a graduate of NAWCTSD's SEMDP (executive management) program and aDoD SMART (Science and Math Advancement of Research & Technology)scholarship recipient. Additionally, she participates on a teamexploring game usage and virtual world technology for potential DoDtraining, simulation and education application across Team Orlando.She hold a bachelor's in Computer Science, masters in InformationManagement and is currently a doctoral candidate in Instructional Technology at the University of Central Florida. Her research studiesinclude the examination of engagement and achievement in virtual worlds.Her academic and professional interests include cutting edge technologies and their potential and application towards both organizational effectiveness and learning performance.
