CAPT Kent Gritton

NAVAIR TSD

Kent Gritton became active in the Serious Games movement early in 2003 and is one of the initial three founding members of the Serious Games Showcase & Challenge.  A graduate from the College of William and Mary and retired from the U.S. Navy after 28 years, he is currently the Director of the Joint Training Integration and Evaluation Center (JTIEC) in Orlando Florida.  In this capacity, he dedicates his time coordinating Service training capabilities to the benefit of the Joint Warfighter.  While in the Navy, Kent flew reconnaissance missions aboard EA-3B,EP-3E, and special purpose P-3 aircraft for 22 years before becoming an acquisition professional.   Kent has spent the past 6 plus years pushing the envelope of training through the use of innovative techniques and emerging technologies.  Spearheading the creation of the Serious Games Showcase & Challenge and ushering in Battle Stations 21 (a unique simulation for Navy recruits blending training and entertainment industry techniques) are two of his many notable accomplishments.  Married to his college sweetheart, Kent and Maria have four wonderful children and one amazing grandson.
