Dr. Gianluca De Leo
Dr. Gianluca De Leo joined Virginia Modeling Analysis and Simulation Center and the College of Health Science at ODU in July 2006. Dr. De Leo has Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Bioelectronics from the University of Genova (Italy), an MS in Electronic Engineering from the University of Genova (Italy) in 1999 and an MBA from Saint Louis University (2005). Dr. De Leo was involved in several projects related to health and biomedical informatics and virtual reality, which were funded by the Italian Ministry of Health, the European Commission and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. De Leo research is currently funded by Microsoft Research, the Virginia Center on Aging and several SBIR/STTR programs. Dr De Leo research interests range from health Informatics to virtual reality and serious gaming.
