3D UH60 with Controls
In the Simulation and Training community multiple training devices are typically developed for complex platforms in order to focus on the proper training disciplines required of the user. These training devices typically take the form of Full Mission Trainers (FMT), Part Task Trainers (PTT), or Desktop Trainers (DTT). In most cases each device requires equivalent interfaces leading to direct cost savings if the content is developed in a reusable solution.
Industry Problem:
- Hand coded devices developed for one trainer can't be used on another trainer's architecture.
- Devices built with a Scene Graph vendor's tool typically only work in that vendor's solution.
- Devices built to performance and fidelity specification of DTT, Courseware, or other externally developed use, cannot meet requirements of PTT or FMT.
- Outdated software solutions and licensing have deterred device developers from looking at today's technology to solve their problems.
The DiSTI Solution:
DiSTI offers software tools and services that develop training device interface content which can be leveraged across multiple training disciplines as well as work with all levels of a products development and lifecycle.
Training devices can leverage content developed during the prototyping phase or for other disciplines such as courseware. Using this cross platform, object oriented solution yields exceptional performance, fidelity, and reusability of these graphical assets into all areas of the product lifecycle.
- Fully interactive 2D or 3D OpenGL based devices are developed faster than hand coding and runs in multiple architectures and operating systems.
- Non-proprietary human readable object oriented code generated in C++, Java, or EC++ works with any OpenGL based Scene Graph.
- Lower development costs by reusing displays and objects built for other programs.
- Strategic partnerships with leading simulation and training vendors to ensure interface objects run where and how you need them to, easily.
- Flexible licensing options for deploying content in a manner that is conducive to your delivery requirements.
The GL Studio® Advantage:
GL Studio is the premier Human Machine Interface (HMI) development tool kit that allows for the creation of open ended devices for multiple simulation and training disciplines or leveraging interface content built in other areas.
- Powerful WYSIWYG environment
- Import existing content to integrate and build RSOs
- Rapidly develop device look and functionality
- Object Oriented design for software reuse
- Multiple code generator options for optimal application development
Through the use of GL Studio, users can rapidly create, modify, manage, and enhance interface displays required for simulation and training. GL Studio creates rich interactive objects that become assets to an organization by enabling the reuse of the content into all aspects of a product lifecycle and run identically on the development system and the target hardware environment.
