US Navy VELCAC Displays Created by DiSTI for UNITECH

GL Studio used to create digital and analog instrumentation

ORLANDO, FL, June 24, 2005 --- The DiSTI Corporation [DiSTI] a leading provider of software tools and components for the development of advanced visual and simulation applications, today announced that Universal Systems and Technology (UNITECH) has selected GL Studio to create the interface for the U.S. Navy SLEP LCAC (Service Life Extension Program Virtual Environment Landing Craft Air Cushion) trainer.

The SLEP VELCAC system is designed to provide differences training for those certified LCAC crewmembers that are transitioning from the traditional LCAC to the SLEP LCAC. The system is also designed to allow mission rehearsal or practice flights to work on crew coordination, cockpit familiarization, rehearsal of select emergency procedures, and practice with craft features unique to the SLEP upgrade.

UNITECH in Winter Park, FL contracted DiSTI to develop the VELCAC cockpit instrumentation using GL Studio. These instruments will be built from high-resolution imagery to give the sailor a photo-realistic experience. The instrumentation is embedded in a Vega Prime scene for a fully interactive 3D virtual trainer. UNITECH will use GL Studio to maintain/upgrade the system in the future.
